8th Annual CAC Sweetheart Dinner & Dance

We will be hosting our 8th Annual Sweetheart Dinner & Dance at the KC Hall in Washington on February 27, 2010.  The evening will begin with cocktails at 6:00, dinner at 7:00 with special guest emcee Jeff Burton from The Thom and Jeff Show on 105.7 the Point and a guest appearance by Dave Glover and Tom Terbrock from 97.1 FM Talk.  Live music will be provided by Alderwood from 8:00 to 12:00.  Finally, this year we have an auctioneer to help us with our live auction,  Col. Diane Parmentier-Riley, Licensed Auctioneer and Appraiser, Riley Auction & Appraisal Service.  The night will also include raffles, a silent auction, and other events throughout night.

The Dance Committee and Team Members have been hard at work for the past couple of months to help make this the most successful dinner & dance to date.  Committee members include:  Emily Goyea, Det. Bev Gillam, Det. Ken Hotsenpiller, Det. Steve Sitzes, Alyce Carpenter, Connilee Boehne, Paula Alspach, Sarah Nowak, Kelley Guertzgen, Amy Rhodes and Kathy Hartmann.

The CAC invites you to “Go Blue” to celebrate Child Abuse Prevention Month!

 

 

The purpose of the “Go Blue” campaign is to increase community awareness of child abuse issues during Child Abuse Prevention Month in April and to engage businesses and individuals in the prevention of child abuse.  This year's theme, Inspire Change, is a call to action for all of us to change the way we think about the prevention of child abuse and neglect and focus on actions that protect children right from the start that so that child abuse and neglect never occur.  

In celebration of this month, the CAC is selling t-shirts to help raise community awareness.  The t-shirts are black with the “Inspire Change” logo on the front.  The back of the shirt has the quote "It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men." ~ Frederick Douglass, with the Children’s Advocacy Center and Comtrea logo underneath.

The shirts are available for $15 and all proceeds will benefit the Children’s Advocacy Center.  These shirts are great not only to wear during the month of April, but throughout the year.
